The sunken WWII Japanese fleet in Simpson Harbour near Rabaul includes submarines, barges, and supply ships resting in 15–40m. These wrecks are heavily encrusted with corals and sponges, creating artificial reefs teeming with lionfish and batfish. The historical significance combined with excellent marine growth makes this a unique dive experience.
