Samarai Wharf Dive Site — Papua New Guinea
About Samarai Wharf
The historic colonial-era jetty on Samarai Island is a world-class muck dive where rusting pylons serve as substrate for a remarkable array of critters. Wonderpus, seahorses, nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish hide among the debris, while juvenile reef fish shelter in the shadows. Samarai was once the administrative capital of eastern Papua, adding historical depth to every dive.
