Munda - Shark Point Dive Site — Solomon Islands
About Munda - Shark Point
Shark Point near Munda is one of the most reliable shark encounter sites in the Western Province. A rocky promontory extends into deeper water, creating an upwelling zone where grey reef sharks congregate in numbers — often 10-15 animals circling a single coral bommie. Whitetip reef sharks rest in the sandy channels below, and large Napoleon wrasse drift between the coral heads with characteristic curiosity. The reef top at 8m features excellent hard coral coverage and dense schools of fusiliers and anthias. Accessible from Munda town, this is an easy logistics dive that consistently delivers quality shark sightings without requiring long boat rides or advanced skills.
