Leru Cut Dive Site — Solomon Islands
About Leru Cut
Leru Cut is a breathtaking geological formation — a narrow fissure slicing clean through a limestone island in the Russell Islands group. Divers enter from the open sea and glide through a canyon barely 3m wide, where sheer walls rise 30m overhead. The magic lies in the light: depending on the sun's angle, brilliant shafts pierce down through the gap above, creating an ever-changing cathedral of light beams in the crystal-clear water. Soft corals in reds and oranges cling to the walls, and small reef fish shelter in the calm interior. The swim-through is shallow (3-15m) and current-free, making it accessible to intermediate divers yet endlessly photogenic for professionals.
