Mirror Pond Dive Site — Solomon Islands
About Mirror Pond
Mirror Pond is a hidden inland saltwater lake connected to the sea via an underwater cave system. Divers swim through a short cavern passage (torch recommended) and surface inside a still, sheltered basin surrounded by towering rainforest-clad limestone cliffs. The mirror-flat surface creates perfect reflections of the jungle canopy above — an ethereal, almost surreal scene. Below the surface, the lake harbours unique populations of jellyfish, shrimp, and small reef fish adapted to the enclosed environment. The dive itself is shallow (3-10m) and calm, but the cave transit requires intermediate skills and comfort in confined spaces. A truly one-of-a-kind experience that showcases the Solomons' geological diversity.
