Cocos Island, located 550 kilometers off Costa Rica's Pacific coast, is one of the world's ultimate big-animal diving destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island's remote volcanic seamounts attract enormous schools of scalloped hammerhead sharks — often numbering in the hundreds — along with whitetip reef sharks carpeting the rocky ledges at night. Giant oceanic manta rays, whale sharks, and silky sharks are regular visitors, and the deeper waters harbor marlin, sailfish, and yellowfin tuna. Bottlenose dolphins escort dive boats, and massive schools of jacks and barracuda create swirling baitballs against the blue water backdrop. When do I need to pay?
A deposit (usually 25-35%) is due upon confirmation. The remaining balance is typically due 4-8 weeks before departure, depending on the operator.
