About Avatoru Pass
Rangiroa's western pass offers equally spectacular drift diving with silvertip sharks patrolling the blue, Napoleon wrasse cruising the channel walls, and manta ray cleaning stations on the outer reef slope. The current here can be fierce, rewarding experienced divers with encounters that rival Tiputa. Eagle rays and large schools of jacks are common year-round visitors.
