HMS Endymion Dive Site — Turks & Caicos
About HMS Endymion
This historic British warship struck a reef in 1790 and sank after three days afloat. The anchors and chains are the most clearly visible features on the sandy bottom at 12 metres. Interestingly, a five-masted schooner with one of the first diesel engines also foundered at this exact site in 1921. The wreckage has become encrusted with corals and sponges, attracting schools of French grunts, glass-eye snappers, and Caribbean reef octopus.
