Highway to Heaven Dive Site — Turks & Caicos
About Highway to Heaven
Named for the sandy flats at the beginning which lead to a spectacular drop-off of over 30 metres. Divers swim through arches completely encrusted in corals at around 24 metres. The sandy highway is home to large colonies of garden eels waving like blades of grass in the current — approach slowly as they disappear into their holes at the first sign of divers. Southern rays and spotted eagle rays frequent the sandy bottom, while reef sharks cruise the deeper wall sections.
