This diving cruise explores the diverse waters of Halmahera, an island in Indonesia's North Maluku province. The journey begins and ends in Ternate, covering a range of sites from the Pantitie Strait to the islands of Bacan and Goraici. Guests will experience a variety of underwater topographies and marine life, including opportunities for muck diving and exploring a shipwreck.

Day-by-day plan

1. Day 1: TERNATE - Check-in

   Halmahera

   Upon arrival at Ternate airport, guests are transferred to the MV Ambai. The first day is dedicated to settling in, with a welcome briefing, cabin allocation, and vessel orientation. An afternoon check dive is planned to help divers get comfortable in the water.

2. Day 2: TERNATE

   Ternate, Tidore, and Mare

   Explore the aquatic realm surrounding Ternate, Tidore, and Mare. The itinerary features three daytime submersions and a single nocturnal dive, providing a thorough overview of the area's marine environments.

3. Day 3: GORAICHI

   Goraici islands

   The voyage continues to the Goraici island group. Divers will have a full day with three scheduled day dives and an additional night dive to discover the reefs and marine inhabitants of this area.

4. Day 4: NORTH PANTITIE STRAIT

   North of Pantitie strait

   Diving focuses on the northern section of the Pantitie Strait. The plan for the day includes three dives during daylight hours followed by a night dive, allowing for extensive exploration of this channel.

5. Day 5: NORTH PANTITIE STRAIT

   North of Pantitie strait

   A second day is spent in the North Pantitie Strait, providing more opportunities to experience the dive sites in this region. The schedule again consists of three day dives and one night dive.

6. Day 6: SOUTH PANTITIE STRAIT

   Pigajara

   The boat moves to the southern part of the strait, near Bacan island, to dive around the small island of Pigajara. Three dives are planned, one of which will be on a wooden shipwreck.

7. Day 7: BACAN

   South Bacan Island

   The itinerary explores the waters of South Bacan Island. A total of four dives are scheduled, including a muck dive near the village of Labuan, which is ideal for finding unique macro critters.

8. Day 8: NORTH BACAN - GORAICI

   North of Bacan and Goraici

   This day features four dives as the vessel navigates between the northern area of Bacan and the Goraici islands. This allows guests to experience the underwater environments of both locations.

9. Day 9: GORAICI- TERNATE

   Goraici

   The final two dives of the trip are conducted in the Goraici area. Afterwards, the boat heads back towards Ternate. If the schedule allows, a land excursion to visit the historic fort of Ternate is arranged.

10. Day 10: CHECK OUT IN TERNATE

    Ternate

    The liveaboard adventure concludes on this day. After checking out from the boat, guests are provided with a transfer to the airport or a local hotel in Ternate.
