Liveaboard diving FAQ — Can I transfer my booking to another person or date?

Can I transfer my booking to another person or date?

Booking, Payment & Cancellation

Yes — name changes are usually free up to 30 days before departure. Date changes depend on availability and the operator's policy.

Name changes (transferring your booking to a friend or family member) are usually free or come with a small administration fee (€25-50) up to 30 days before departure. The new guest needs to meet the same certification and dive experience requirements as the original booking, and you'll need to provide their passport, certification card, and dive insurance details.

Date changes depend on availability and how far ahead you ask

The earlier you request a change, the more flexibility operators offer. 90+ days out, most operators will move you to any available date within the same season at no cost (subject to a price difference if the new date is in a higher season). 60-90 days out, change fees of 10-15% may apply. Inside 60 days, date changes are usually treated as cancellations + new bookings.

Cabin upgrades are always possible if a higher cabin category opens up and you're willing to pay the difference. Downgrades (moving from a master to a twin) are sometimes possible but rarely come with a refund of the difference unless the higher cabin is then resold.

Adding extra guests to an existing booking is straightforward as long as the cabin and trip have capacity. Each guest is added through the booking with their own passport, certification and form set. Group rates may apply if your total guest count exceeds 4 or 6 (varies by operator).

All changes are handled through Blue Rides — just email bookings@bluerides.com or reply to your booking confirmation. We coordinate directly with the operator and confirm changes in writing within 24-48 hours.
