• Maldives — extend in Malé or Hulhumalé for the local fish market and cultural sites, or splurge on a 1–2 night resort stay before sailing. • Egypt — Cairo (pyramids, Khan El Khalili souk, Egyptian Museum) is a 1-hour flight from Hurghada. Allow 2–3 days for a proper visit. Luxor (Valley of the Kings, Karnak temples) is also a 1-hour internal flight. • Indonesia — Bali (rice terraces, Ubud, beach time) needs no introduction. 2–4 days easily fills. • Galápagos — Quito or Guayaquil overnight is mandatory. Extend Quito to 3 days for the Old Town UNESCO site and the equator monument. Or fly south to Cuenca and Banos for adventure activities. • Cocos — extend in Costa Rica with a few days in Manuel Antonio or Monteverde.
