Embark on a premier diving expedition to the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the heart of the Sulu Sea. This journey covers both the North and South Atolls, offering access to dramatic vertical walls, expansive coral fields, and historic shipwrecks. Divers will experience high-energy pelagic encounters and explore some of the most protected and biodiverse marine environments in the Philippines.
A UNESCO World Heritage site located in the middle of the Sulu Sea, Tubbataha consists of two large atolls and the smaller Jessie Beazley Reef. It is celebrated for its incredible biodiversity, featuring pristine coral walls that plunge to great depths and a vast array of pelagic life.
Boarding commences in Puerto Princesa during the afternoon, followed by vessel orientations and safety briefings. The ship begins its journey toward the Sulu Sea by early evening for the crossing to Tubbataha.
The first day of diving explores the steep drop-offs and lush coral gardens of the Jeazy Beazley area. These sites are recognized for their vertical reef architecture and clear water, often attracting schooling predators along the deep ridges and wall sections. Divers can enjoy a mix of healthy hard corals and dramatic topography.
Dive sites: South Park, North End Corner, Malayan Wreck, Wall Street
Today's dives are centered on the North Atoll, a region famous for its high concentration of reef sharks and vibrant plateaus. The underwater landscape features sloping terraces and current-swept corners where pelagics are frequently seen patrolling the blue. The day concludes with a unique social visit to the local Ranger Station.
Dive sites: Shark Airport, Washing Machine, Terraces, North East Corner
The expedition moves to the South Atoll to discover deep-water pinnacles and walls covered in massive sea fans. The area is known for its strong currents which bring in large schools of trevally and cruising predators along the outer reef edges. Underwater visibility is typically excellent, showcasing the massive reef structures.
Dive sites: Black Rock, Black Rock Corner, Sea Fan Alley, Ko-Ok
Diving returns to the North Atoll's premier sites, including shallow wrecks and expansive coral fields that host cleaning stations for larger residents. The topography varies from flat reef tops to vertical drop-offs, providing a diverse range of marine life encounters. Sites like the Malayan Wreck offer a mix of artificial reef structure and natural coral growth.
Dive sites: Shark Airport, Wall Streat, Terraces, Malayan Wreck
The final morning of diving takes place at the South Atoll, featuring deep drop-offs and massive coral heads. After the morning dives, the vessel begins the return journey to Palawan, navigating back through the Sulu Sea. Guests can spend the afternoon and evening relaxing on deck as the boat approaches the port.
