About this route

This classic Red Sea itinerary offers a fantastic mix of world-class dive sites, starting and ending in Safaga. The journey combines legendary wrecks, including the SS Thistlegorm and potentially the Salem Express, with the pristine marine parks of Ras Mohamed and the legendary Brother Islands. Divers will experience sheer walls, vibrant coral gardens, and thrilling drift dives. The offshore pinnacles of the Brothers provide an excellent chance for encounters with large pelagic species, making this a comprehensive Red Sea adventure.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Embarkation in Safaga

    Safaga

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to the marina. Once onboard, you'll be assigned your cabin, followed by a welcome briefing and an introduction to the boat and crew.

  2. Day 2: Local Dives & Northward Navigation

    Safaga & El Gouna

    The day starts with boat and safety briefings before heading out for the first two dives at local sites near Safaga. These initial dives serve as a great warm-up and gear check. After the second dive, the vessel begins its journey north, mooring for the night in the sheltered El Gouna area.

  3. Day 3: Abu Nuhas Wrecks

    Strait of Gubal, Abu Nuhas

    Today is dedicated to the famous wrecks of the Abu Nuhas reef, also known as the 'ship's graveyard'. Two morning dives explore iconic wrecks such as the Giannis D, Lentil-carrier, or Carnatic, now colonized by corals and marine life. After a short sail, a third dive is offered at a different location, with a night dive possible upon request.

  4. Day 4: SS Thistlegorm

    Strait of Gubal

    An entire day is devoted to exploring the legendary SS Thistlegorm. As one of the most famous wrecks in the world, multiple dives allow for a thorough exploration. Divers can penetrate the cargo holds to see the WWII-era military supplies, including trucks, motorcycles, and rifles, as well as discover the exterior marine life that has made this wreck its home.

  5. Day 5: Ras Mohamed National Park

    Ras Mohamed & Sinai Peninsula

    The day begins at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula in Ras Mohamed National Park. Here, divers explore world-class sites like Shark & Yolanda Reef, famous for sheer drop-offs and incredible fish biomass. After at least two dives in the reserve, a third dive may be conducted at Shaab Mahmoud before the boat begins the overnight crossing to the Brother Islands.

  6. Day 6: Brother Islands

    The Brother Islands

    Arrival at the famous Brother Islands is in the early morning. These two remote pinnacles, Big Brother and Little Brother, rise from the abyss and are renowned for spectacular wall diving and encounters with large pelagic animals. Three dives are planned to explore the pristine coral-covered drop-offs, with a chance to spot oceanic whitetip, thresher, or hammerhead sharks. Afterwards, the boat sails towards Safaga.

  7. Day 7: Safaga Diving & Return to Port

    Safaga

    For the last day at sea, two final dives are conducted in the Safaga area. Depending on the group's preference and conditions, sites may include the famous ferry wreck of the Salem Express or one of the stunning drop-offs like Panorama Reef. The boat returns to the marina in the afternoon, allowing time to rinse equipment and enjoy a final evening.

  8. Day 8: Disembarkation in Safaga

    Safaga

    Enjoy a final breakfast on board before morning check-out. A transfer will be arranged to take you to the airport for your departure flight.
