What happens if the trip gets cancelled by the operator?

You get a full refund or a free reschedule to an equivalent trip. We help you rebook and assist with any flight-change costs.

If the operator cancels your trip — for any reason — you have two contractual rights: a 100% refund of all monies paid to the operator, or a free reschedule onto the next equivalent departure with no change fees. The choice is yours. Blue Rides handles the entire process and refunds your deposit and balance to the original payment method, typically within 5-10 business days.

Flight costs are typically not covered by the operator's refund — this is where travel insurance pays for itself. A good policy reimburses non-refundable airfare, hotel pre-bookings and missed activities. Always book a refundable or insured flight ticket for liveaboard trips when possible.

If the operator offers a reschedule, we'll work with you to find a date that fits your calendar — typically you can move within a 12-month window without any price difference, even if the new departure is in a higher season.

In the very rare case of an operator going out of business between booking and departure, your deposit is protected because Blue Rides only releases operator payouts after departure for most contracts. We've never lost a customer's deposit and have a network of partner operators who step in to take over orphaned bookings at the same price.
