Maldives
Water temperature 27–30°C year-round, with the warmest months being March to May. Air temperature is similar. The northeast monsoon (December–April) brings flat seas, excellent visibility (30m+), and the famous mantas to Hanifaru Bay. The southwest monsoon (May–November) brings rougher surface conditions but big-animal encounters at the southern atolls. 3mm full wetsuit is the universal answer.
Indonesia (Bali, Komodo north, central Sulawesi)
28–30°C year-round, with very minor seasonal variation. The northern hemisphere winter (October–April) is the high season for Raja Ampat and most central Indonesia diving. The southern hemisphere winter (May–September) is the high season for Komodo southern sites where colder upwelling brings mantas and big fish. 3mm full wetsuit handles all of it.
Philippines
27–29°C year-round. The dry season (December–May) is the diving high season; the wet season (June–November) brings typhoons but also produces excellent macro at Anilao and Tubbataha. 3mm full wetsuit.
Caribbean (Bahamas, Cayman, Honduras Bay Islands, Belize)
27–29°C in the warm half of the year (April–November), dropping to 24–26°C in the winter (December–March). 3mm in summer; 5mm in winter for divers who get cold easily.
Mexican Caribbean (Cozumel, Riviera Maya)
28–29°C in summer, 24–26°C in winter. 3mm year-round for most divers.
Egyptian Red Sea
26–28°C in summer (May–October), dropping to 21–24°C in winter (November–April). Northern routes (Hurghada, Sharm) stay slightly warmer than southern routes (Marsa Alam, Brothers). 3mm in summer, 5mm + hooded vest in winter.
