What Blue Rides includes with every booking
Every guest can request DAN Short Term Travel Assistance dive accident cover during checkout. We arrange the cover, register it for the exact dates of your trip, and pay the premium — it costs you nothing. This is a real extra service on top of your booking, not a discount or a voucher.
What the free dive insurance covers
It covers exactly the costs a normal travel or health policy usually excludes: hyperbaric chamber therapy and hospital treatment abroad after a dive accident, medical evacuation from a remote dive area, follow-up treatment by dive medicine specialists, official search and rescue operations, extra hotel and travel costs if you cannot continue your trip as planned, and medically supervised repatriation home. The maximum cover is €50,000 per event. The policy confirmation with the DAN 24-hour emergency number arrives by email before departure.
What it does not cover
The DAN cover is a dive accident policy, not travel insurance. Trip cancellation or interruption, flight tickets, lost luggage and non-diving illness are not covered — for those risks a separate travel insurance policy is still the right tool.
About travel insurance
Blue Rides does not offer travel insurance at the moment. We are working on adding it, and the goal is to include it with every booking in the future — free of charge, just like the dive insurance. Until then, if you want protection against cancellation or interruption (for example, a flight delay making you miss the boat), a specialist trip-cancellation policy is the right choice. Check the depth limits: many standard policies exclude diving below 30 m.
For completeness: Blue Rides is a booking agent, not an insurer. The dive insurance contract is issued by the DAN insurance provider; we arrange it for you and pay the premium as an added service on top of your booking.
