What you actually get on a luxury liveaboard
• Cabins 25–60 m² with king beds, sitting area, large windows or private balcony
• Crew-to-guest ratio of 1:1 or better (vs 1:3 standard)
• Dedicated camera room with charging stations, rinse tanks, editing desks
• Plated dining by a chef, often with sommelier wine pairings
• Spa, hot tub, steam room on board
• Tender boats with private guides — small dive groups (2–4)
• Helicopter or seaplane transfers for distant atolls
What doesn't change
The diving itself. Reefs are public, marine park rules are equal, and a Galápagos hammerhead doesn't care which boat you came from. If your goal is the dive sites, a well-run mid-tier boat will deliver 95% of the experience.
