Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Embarkation in Sorong

    Sorong

Guests arrive at Sorong airport and are transferred to the harbor to board the vessel. After a welcome briefing and safety orientation, the boat sets sail overnight towards the southern reaches of Raja Ampat.

Good to know: No diving on the first day. The journey to Misool is a significant overnight crossing.

  2. Day 2: Exploring South Misool

    Misool

The first day of diving begins in the southern labyrinth of Misool's islands. Dives introduce the area's signature topography, characterized by steep walls and bommies completely covered in a kaleidoscope of colorful soft corals and sea fans.

Dive sites: V-Rock, The Candy Store

  3. Day 3: Fiabacet & Boo

    Misool

Diving continues around the Fiabacet ridge and nearby islands. This area is famous for its breathtaking underwater landscapes, including the iconic 'Boo Windows' swim-through and reefs teeming with schools of fusiliers and sweetlips.

Dive sites: Boo Windows, Tank Rock, Nudi Rock

Good to know: Currents can be present, attracting large schools of fish.

  4. Day 4: Wayilbatan & Kaleidoscope

    Misool

The day focuses on the Wayilbatan area, with dives offering dramatic scenery and diverse marine life. One site, Kaleidoscope, lives up to its name with a profusion of soft corals and critters, while other sites feature swim-throughs and overhangs.

Dive sites: Kaleidoscope, Barracuda Rock, Four Kings

Good to know: An excursion into the hidden lagoons via tender may be offered.

  5. Day 5: Farondi & Balbulol

    Misool

Explore the eastern side of Misool around the Farondi and Balbulol island groups. Dives here often feature tunnels, caverns, and stunning hard coral gardens, set against a backdrop of sugar-loaf karst islands rising from the turquoise sea.

Dive sites: Goa Farondi, Three Sisters, Love Potion

Good to know: A scenic tour through the Balbulol lagoons is a highlight.

  6. Day 6: Passage to Central Raja Ampat

    En route to Penemu

After a final morning dive in Misool, the vessel begins the long crossing north towards the central region of Raja Ampat. The afternoon is spent relaxing on board while cruising, with arrival in the Penemu area by evening.

    Dive sites: Love Potion

Good to know: This is primarily a travel day to reposition the boat from south to central Raja Ampat.

  7. Day 7: Penemu Islands (Fam)

    Penemu

A full day is dedicated to the spectacular Penemu Islands, home to some of Raja Ampat's most famous sites. Dive sites: Melissa's Garden, My Reef, Keruo Channel

Good to know: Includes a mandatory trek to the Pianemo viewpoint between dives.

  8. Day 8: Dampier Strait - Mantas & Villages

    Dampier Strait (Arborek)

The journey reaches the world-renowned Dampier Strait, with a focus on sites known for manta ray encounters. Dives are planned at cleaning stations where both reef and oceanic mantas congregate, followed by a potential visit to the charming Arborek village.

Dive sites: Manta Sandy, Manta Ridge, Arborek Jetty

Good to know: Manta sightings are common but not guaranteed. The night dive at Arborek Jetty is a highlight for macro life.

  9. Day 9: Dampier Strait - Peak Biodiversity

Diving continues in the heart of the Dampier Strait, an area holding records for the highest number of fish species on a single dive. Sites like Cape Kri and Sardine Reef are current-swept and action-packed, featuring everything from pygmy seahorses to massive schools of trevally, barracuda, and reef sharks.

Dive sites: Cape Kri, Sardine Reef, Blue Magic
