This liveaboard expedition explores the rich and varied waters of North Sulawesi and the Togian Islands, offering a blend of vibrant coral reefs, volcanic landscapes, and remote island systems. Divers can expect diverse marine life from macro to wide-angle, with opportunities for unique encounters. The route is designed to provide a comprehensive experience of Indonesia's underwater beauty, balancing exhilarating dives with opportunities to relax and explore.
Upon arrival at Manado airport, guests will be transferred to the harbor in Bitung to board the Wellenreng. After settling into cabins and a welcome briefing, the day includes a check dive in the protected bays of Lembeh Strait. The area is renowned for its unique volcanic black sand, offering excellent macro photography opportunities and discoveries of unusual critters.

The first full day of diving takes place around Tanjung Flesko, a region celebrated for its vibrant coral slopes, ridges, and exceptional visibility. This area provides an ideal environment for macro life and extensive diving. Expect a variety of pristine coral formations alongside a rich diversity of smaller marine creatures.
Dive sites: Batu Mandi, Flesko Garden, Flesko Brother, Mangrove Corner
Continuing south, the itinerary visits Bolsol, a coastal region known for its colorful soft corals and abundant reef fish. This area often features excellent biodiversity, making it a rewarding experience for divers interested in marine ecosystems and unique species. The sheltered bays offer calm conditions, ideal for leisurely explorations.

The scenic changes continue as the vessel arrives in Gorontalo, renowned for its distinctive volcanic formations, including the famous Salvador Dali sponges. This area is also a migratory route, offering occasional opportunities to encounter whale sharks. Divers can expect unique underwater landscapes and potential close-up encounters with large pelagics.

Today marks the entrance to the Togian Islands, with dives around Una-Una, an active volcanic island known for its nutrient-rich reefs. Divers can anticipate encountering huge sponges, lush coral slopes, and an abundance of schooling fish. The volcanic activity contributes to a unique underwater topography and rich marine life.
Dive sites: Fishomania, Kingston Wall, Black Forest
Another full day is dedicated to exploring the more volcanic reefs, pinnacles, and lava-formed landscapes surrounding Una-Una. Marine life here is often abundant and currents are generally calm, making for relaxed and rewarding dives. The unique geological features create dramatic backdrops for diverse marine ecosystems.
Dive sites: Apollo, Fishomania (south sector), Apollo Ridge, South Una-Una
The journey continues west into the central Togian Islands towards Kadidiri, a renowned location for its pristine coral gardens, gentle slopes, and excellent visibility. This area boasts a rich mix of wide-angle and macro opportunities, making it suitable for all types of divers. The healthy reefs support a thriving ecosystem of diverse species.
Dive sites: B24 Bomber Wreck, Kadidiri Wall, Shark Point
Today, the vessel reaches the remote Pulau Dua area, known for its dramatic walls, caverns, and expansive coral heads. The reefs here are largely untouched, reflecting successful conservation efforts that help maintain healthy corals and thriving fish populations. Divers can expect spectacular underwater scenery and vibrant marine life in a pristine environment.

A second day in Pulau Dua allows more time to explore its numerous pinnacles, slopes, and sheltered bays. Divers can expect relaxed drifts and a healthy mix of reef fish and delicate macro critters. The diverse topography provides varied diving experiences, from wide-angle vistas to detailed macro photography opportunities.
Dive sites: Solan, Batu Tetek, Ali Baba 2, Tompotika House Reef
Two morning dives are scheduled around Pulau Dua, allowing for final underwater explorations of the area's walls, caverns, and coral formations. In the afternoon, there is an excursion to Pulau Dua island to explore its beaches and scenic viewpoints before an overnight navigation towards Luwuk. This offers a chance to enjoy both the underwater and topside beauty of the region.

After breakfast, guests will say goodbye to the Wellenreng crew. Transfers will be arranged to the airport or your hotel in Luwuk, concluding the liveaboard adventure.
