Today's diving focuses on Daedalus Reef, a remote offshore reef known for its incredible wall dives and strong currents that attract large pelagic species. The area is famous for its healthy hard and soft coral gardens, which create a vibrant backdrop for sightings of hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, and schooling fusiliers. Divers often find excellent visibility, enhancing the experience of exploring this massive, circular reef.
The exploration of Daedalus Reef continues. Dives today may include areas around the iconic lighthouse, which provides a unique backdrop for underwater photography. The plateau at the northern tip is particularly known for pelagic encounters, with groups of schooling hammerheads frequently sighted. The reef's diverse topography, including walls, overhangs, and a sloping plateau, supports an abundance of marine life, from small reef fish to larger migratory species.
The vessel visits Zabargad, an island renowned for its unique geological formations and vibrant coral reefs. Lying just a short distance from Rocky Island, it offers diverse dive sites, including a convenient plateau surrounding the entire island. Divers explore varied marine habitats and encounter a mix of reef fish and occasional larger species, with currents often depending on the prevailing winds.
Dives today are centered around Rocky Island, a small but incredibly rich diving destination southeast of Zabargad. The island is encircled by a plateau providing excellent views during safety stops, and currents can shift from the northeast to the south. With three main diving zones—the south, east, and north shores—the area is known for its pristine reefs and diverse marine life, making it a true jewel of the Red Sea.
The itinerary brings the vessel to Elphinstone Reef, one of the most spectacular reefs in the Red Sea. Known for its dramatic wall dives with overhangs and plateaus, the reef teems with marine activity. The northern plateau, descending to 25 meters, and the southern plateau, dropping to 45 meters, are renowned for frequent sightings of schooling hammerheads and oceanic whitetip sharks. The reef walls are adorned with colorful soft corals, gorgonians, and black corals, creating a vibrant ecosystem.
Today offers a final opportunity to explore the wonders of Elphinstone Reef. The excellent visibility and strong currents often provide thrilling drift dives along the steep walls, allowing divers to observe the rich biodiversity. Beyond the pelagic encounters, the reef is home to diverse reef fish, moray eels, and vibrant invertebrate life, making every dive a comprehensive Red Sea experience. The day concludes with preparations for disembarkation.
Guests will enjoy a final breakfast onboard before disembarking in Port Ghalib by 10 AM. Transfer arrangements can be made to the airport or onward destinations, concluding an unforgettable Red Sea diving adventure.
