Large chenal entre Alor et Adonara où l'eau océanique profonde s'engouffre, apportant des courants riches en plancton. Des requins-baleines ont été aperçus ici pendant la saison humide, et des groupes résidents de dauphins à long bec accompagnent fréquemment les bateaux. Sous la surface, d'énormes bancs de poissons-chirurgiens recouvrent la pente récifale.
