Sunlight · Egypt · 8 Days / 7 Nights
A balanced Northern Red Sea round-trip out of Hurghada that pairs the relaxed coral gardens and historic wrecks of the Safaga area with the headline sites of the north — Abu Nuhas wreck graveyard, Ras Mohammed National Park and the SS Thistlegorm. Suitable for recreational divers of all certification levels who want a mix of wrecks, reefs and drift dives, with up to 20 dives across the week including night dives. Key highlights include Panorama Reef and the Salem Express around Safaga, the Carnatic, Chrisoula K, Giannis D and Dunraven on Abu Nuhas, the Shark & Yolanda / Jackfish Alley drift in Ras Mohammed, and one or two dives on the SS Thistlegorm. Final order of sites is at the captain's discretion based on weather, sea state and group experience.
Hurghada
Check-in and boarding from 7:00 PM at Hurghada marina. The first night is spent alongside in port — guest welcome, cabin allocation and trip briefing, with no diving scheduled.
Good to know: Overnight in port
Safaga
Morning check dive at Gotta Abu Ramada (the Aquarium) for buoyancy and weight check among coral pinnacles and large schools of glassfish. An afternoon dive on the Salem Express follows — a respectful exterior tour of the ferry that sank in 1991, now a memorial wreck. The day ends with a night dive at Shaab Hamballah for octopus, lionfish and Spanish dancers.
Dive sites: Gotta Abu Ramada, Salem Express, Shaab Hamballah
Safaga
A full reef day around Safaga: Abu Al Khifan for its coral plateau and big-fish potential, Shaab Shehr or the Posidonia barge, and a drift along Um Hal Hal. The evening night dive returns to Gotta Abu Ramada for a relaxed coral-pinnacle dive.
Dive sites: Abu Al Khifan, Shaab Shehr, Posidonia, Um Hal Hal, Gotta Abu Ramada
Abu Nuhas / Strait of Gubal
Overnight passage north brings the boat to the Abu Nuhas reef and its four classic wrecks. Planned dives include the 19th-century RMS Carnatic, the Chrisoula K (the 'Tile Wreck') and the Dunraven, with a night dive on Beacon Rock for nocturnal critters.
Dive sites: RMS Carnatic, Chrisoula K, Dunraven, Beacon Rock
Ras Mohammed
A signature day in Ras Mohammed. Shark & Yolanda Reef offers the classic drift past Anemone City, the Yolanda cargo and into the blue for trevally, barracuda and reef sharks. Jackfish Alley follows for wall and cave sections, then a first afternoon dive on the SS Thistlegorm and an iconic Thistlegorm night dive into the holds.
Dive sites: Shark & Yolanda Reef, Jackfish Alley, SS Thistlegorm
Strait of Gubal
An early second dive on the Thistlegorm to revisit the cargo holds — locomotives, motorbikes and trucks — before moving across the strait. Afternoon dives at Shag Rock or the Kingston wreck and Gubal Island or the Ulysses, finishing with a night dive at The Barge for ghost pipefish, crocodilefish and free-swimming morays.
Dive sites: SS Thistlegorm, Shag Rock, Kingston Wreck, Gubal Island, Ulysses, The Barge
Abu Nuhas / Shaab El Erg
Morning dive on the Giannis D — the most photogenic of the Abu Nuhas wrecks with its dramatic 45-degree list. The final dive of the trip is at Shaab El Erg / Dolphin House, with a good chance of spinner dolphins around the lagoon. The boat then steams back to Hurghada in the afternoon.
Dive sites: Giannis D, Shaab El Erg
