About this route

A perfectly balanced Red Sea round-trip from Hurghada that pairs the offshore drama of the Brothers Islands with the relaxed reefs and historic wrecks of the Safaga area. Big Brother and Little Brother rise from deep blue water as twin pinnacles known for sheer walls, strong currents and big-animal action — oceanic whitetip, grey reef and occasional hammerhead and thresher sharks, plus the wrecks of the Aida and Numidia. Safaga rounds out the week with Panorama Reef, Middle Reef, Abu Kafan and a respectful dive on the Salem Express memorial wreck. This route is intended for certified divers with reasonable experience — Advanced Open Water and around 50 logged dives are recommended for the Brothers due to currents and depth. The Brothers Islands sit inside a protected marine park and are only accessible part of the year; final site order is at the captain's discretion based on weather and sea state.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Embarkation in Hurghada

    Hurghada

Check-in and boarding from 7:00 PM at Hurghada marina. Welcome briefing, cabin allocation and a quiet first night alongside in port. No diving scheduled.

Good to know: Overnight in port

  2. Day 2: Safaga Check Dive & Reefs

    Safaga

Morning passage south to the Safaga area for a relaxed check dive on a sheltered coral reef. The day continues with two dives on Safaga's signature sites — Panorama Reef for its sloping coral garden and pelagic flybys, and Middle Reef or Abu Kafan for hard-coral towers, anemone fields and schooling fusiliers. Evening night dive on a sheltered Safaga reef for nocturnal critters.

Dive sites: Panorama Reef, Middle Reef, Abu Kafan

  3. Day 3: Salem Express & Overnight Passage

    Safaga → Brothers Islands

A respectful exterior dive on the Salem Express memorial wreck is followed by one further Safaga reef dive (Tobia Arba or Sha'ab Sheer area). After the evening briefing the boat begins the long overnight passage out to the Brothers Islands.

Dive sites: Salem Express, Tobia Arba / Sha'ab Sheer

Good to know: Night passage to the Brothers

  4. Day 4: Big Brother — Walls & Wrecks

    Big Brother Island

Three dives around Big Brother. The northern plateau is the prime spot for grey reef, silvertip and oceanic whitetip sharks plus occasional thresher and hammerhead. The wrecks of the Aida (a 19th-century Egyptian troopship lying on the steep wall) and the Numidia (a British cargo ship from 1901) are explored along Big Brother's northern point, with the soft-coral and gorgonian walls finishing each dive.

Dive sites: Big Brother — North Plateau, Aida Wreck, Numidia Wreck

  5. Day 5: Little Brother — Sharks & Soft Corals

    Little Brother Island

Three dives around Little Brother. The southern plateau is renowned for hammerhead sightings on the early dive and grey reef shark action through the day. The west and east walls drop into the blue carpeted with soft corals, gorgonians and large schools of jacks, barracuda and fusiliers — classic Red Sea wall diving with frequent pelagic encounters.

Dive sites: Little Brother — South Plateau, Little Brother — West Wall, Little Brother — East Wall

  6. Day 6: Brothers Final Dives & Return Passage

    Brothers → Safaga

Two final dives on the Brothers — typically a last visit to the Big Brother plateau and a drift along the Little Brother walls — before lifting anchor and starting the long return passage west toward Safaga and Hurghada.

Dive sites: Big Brother, Little Brother

Good to know: Daytime passage back to the coast

  7. Day 7: Safaga Coastal Reefs

    Safaga / Hurghada coast

Two relaxed final dives on sheltered Safaga or southern Hurghada reefs — ideal for long bottom times, photography and respecting the 18-hour no-fly window. The boat then steams back into Hurghada harbour during the afternoon for the farewell evening on board.

Dive sites: Safaga / Hurghada coastal reefs

Good to know: Return to port

  8. Day 8: Disembarkation

    Hurghada

Breakfast on board followed by check-out by 9:00 AM. Note: dive sites and order are indicative and may be adjusted by the captain based on weather, sea state and certification levels on board.
