About this route

This journey explores two of Raja Ampat's most celebrated regions, combining the otherworldly soft coral gardens and unique geological formations of Misool with the exhilarating, current-swept channels of the Dampier Strait. The itinerary balances world-class diving with iconic surface excursions to viewpoints and a magical jellyfish lake, offering a comprehensive experience of this epicentre of marine biodiversity.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Embarkation in Waisai Harbour

    Waisai, Raja Ampat

    Guests will be met in Waisai Harbour for boarding. The afternoon is for check-in, room allocation, and setting up dive gear. Following the welcome briefing, the vessel begins the overnight crossing south towards the Misool archipelago.

  2. Day 2: Misool — Fiabacet & Daram

    Misool, South Raja Ampat

    The adventure begins in the heart of the Misool Marine Reserve, a protected area famed for its pristine reefs and rich soft corals. The day includes a check dive followed by two more immersions, exploring sites around the Fiabacet and Daram island groups. This region is a kaleidoscope of colour, with vibrant sea fan forests and sloping reefs teeming with fusiliers and passing pelagics.

  3. Day 3: Misool — Love Lagoon & Boo Windows

    Wayilbatan & Boo, Misool

    After a morning of diving on Misool's iconic reefs, such as the fish-filled Boo Windows, the afternoon is dedicated to an onshore excursion. A short but steep hike reveals the stunning, heart-shaped 'Love Lagoon' in Wayilbatan. The day's three dives will explore vibrant walls and pinnacles, home to immense biodiversity and a great place to spot wobbegong sharks.

  4. Day 4: Misool — Jellyfish Lake & Crossing North

    Misool, South Raja Ampat

    The final day in Misool offers two spectacular dives, showcasing the area's underwater caves and dramatic topography. A major highlight is a visit to a landlocked Jellyfish Lake for a unique and memorable snorkeling experience with thousands of harmless, pulsating jellyfish. Afterwards, the vessel begins the long overnight passage north towards the Fam Islands.

  5. Day 5: Pianymu & Fam Islands — Melissa's Garden

    Fam Islands, Central Raja Ampat

    Arrival in the Fam Islands, an incredible island chain featuring the famous Pianymu viewpoint. The day's three dives focus on world-renowned sites like Melissa's Garden, a vast, healthy hard coral plateau swarming with countless colourful anthias and damselfish. In the afternoon, guests hike to the top of Pianymu for one of Raja Ampat's most iconic panoramic views.

  6. Day 6: Gam & Yangeffo — Citrus Ridge

    Gam Island, Central Raja Ampat

    A full day with four dives dedicated to the diverse environments around Gam and Yangeffo islands. Sites like Citrus Ridge are known for their vibrant colors and incredible biodiversity. The area's mangrove systems create a unique habitat where soft corals grow among the roots, acting as a nursery for countless juvenile fish, archer fish, and cardinalfish.

  7. Day 7: Dampier Strait — Manta Sandy & Arborek

    Dampier Strait, Central Raja Ampat

    Diving into the nutrient-rich waters of the Dampier Strait, home to some of the highest fish biomass on the planet. The day's three dives may target manta ray cleaning stations like Manta Sandy or explore the incredible life under Arborek Jetty. An afternoon beach visit offers a chance to see thousands of flying foxes take to the sky at sunset.

  8. Day 8: Dampier Strait — Cape Kri & Sardine Reef

    Dampier Strait, Central Raja Ampat

    The last full day of diving features three more action-packed dives in the famous Dampier Strait. Depending on currents, the plan will target world-record-breaking sites like Cape Kri or the thrilling drift of Sardine Reef. This is the ultimate opportunity to hook into the reef and watch sharks, tuna, and giant trevallies hunt in the fast-moving water.

  9. Day 9: Final Dive & Disembarkation in Waisai

    Waisai, Raja Ampat

    One final morning dive to cap off the adventure before the boat returns to Waisai Harbour. After breakfast, there's time to rinse and pack equipment before saying farewell to the crew. Disembarkation is scheduled for midday to align with the afternoon ferry back to Sorong.
