Blue Storm · Egypt · 8 Days / 7 Nights
A demanding deep-south expedition from Port Ghalib that strings together the three big-blue magnets of the Egyptian Red Sea: Daedalus Reef, Rocky Island and Zabargad. Steep walls, strong currents and a real sense of remoteness are the trademark, with regular encounters with hammerhead schools, grey reef sharks, oceanic whitetips, mantas and the occasional dugong or thresher. Around 17–20 dives over 6 diving days. AOWD and 50+ logged dives recommended.
Airport pickup, boarding at Port Ghalib Marina from 18:00, paperwork, cabin allocation and welcome dinner. Overnight in the marina.
Easy check dive at Marsa Shouna or Marsa Egla to fine-tune buoyancy, followed by a long crossing south toward Zabargad Island, sailing through the afternoon and night.
Dive sites: Marsa Shouna
Three dives around the green-tinted slopes of Zabargad: the Khanka shipwreck on the north side encrusted in soft corals, the dramatic east-wall drop-offs, and a shallower garden-eel bay in the afternoon. Often a relaxed contrast before the bigger sites.
Dive sites: Khanka Wreck, Zabargad East Wall, Turtle Bay
Three dives circumnavigating tiny Rocky Island – arguably the most pelagic-rich site in Egypt. Strong currents along the south plateau bring grey reef sharks, hammerheads and silky sharks; the eastern wall is a dense kaleidoscope of gorgonians and large groupers.
Dive sites: Rocky South Plateau, Rocky East Wall, Rocky North Corner
One last morning dive at Rocky, then a daytime crossing north-east to Daedalus Reef. Late-afternoon dive on the west wall to scout currents.
Three full dives at Daedalus (Abu El Kizan): the north plateau at dawn for schooling hammerheads, the anemone city on the east wall, and a long drift along the dense soft-coral garden of the west wall, with oceanic whitetips often patrolling the shallows.
Dive sites: Daedalus North Plateau, Daedalus East Wall, Daedalus West Wall
Two morning dives at Elphinstone Reef – north plateau in the blue for thresher and oceanic whitetip, south plateau drift across the saddle. Final relaxed dive near Marsa Alam in the afternoon, then arrival in Port Ghalib for the farewell dinner.
Dive sites: Elphinstone North Plateau, Elphinstone South Plateau
Breakfast on board and disembarkation between 09:00 and 10:00. Transfer to Hurghada (HRG) or Marsa Alam (RMF) airport.
