This Indonesian itinerary explores the rich marine biodiversity of Raja Ampat before venturing south to the lesser-dived Triton Bay. Expect a journey through vibrant coral gardens, diverse fish populations, and a high chance of encounters with various shark species and manta rays in Raja Ampat's nutrient-rich waters. Transitioning to Triton Bay, anticipate stunning soft coral landscapes, abundant fish life, and opportunities to spot endemic species in a more secluded environment. This route combines well-known sites with true exploration, offering a comprehensive look at both iconic and emerging dive regions of West Papua.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Embarkation in Sorong

    Sorong, Raja Ampat

    Arrive at Sorong's airport and transfer to the vessel. After settling in and receiving a welcome briefing, the boat will begin its journey towards the dive sites.

    Good to know: Embarkation day. No diving activities are scheduled.

  2. Day 2: Dampier Strait Diving

    Kri & Mansuar Islands

    The first dives take place in the heart of Raja Ampat's Dampier Strait. You'll explore the sloping reef of Mioskon and the thrilling Blue Magic seamount, known for its large schools of fish, before a final dive along the vibrant currents of Cape Kri.

  3. Day 3: Penemu's Reefs and Panoramas

    Penemu & Yangeffo

    Today's dives focus on the fish-filled seamount of Mayhem and the stunning hard coral gardens of Melissa’s Garden. In the afternoon, take a break from diving for a short hike up to the iconic viewpoint on Penemu for breathtaking views of the karst island seascape.

    Dive sites: Mayhem, Melissa's Garden

    Good to know: Includes a land excursion to the Penemu viewpoint.

  4. Day 4: Arrival in Misool's East

    Farondi & Fiabacet, Misool

    After an overnight cruise, you arrive in the southern wonderland of Misool. Dives explore the iconic Boo Windows, a swim-through piercing the island, and the dramatic walls of the 3 Sisters, with a possible night dive.

    Dive sites: Boo Windows, 3 Sisters, Yelliet Besar

    Good to know: Overnight sailing from Penemu to reach Misool.

  5. Day 5: Misool's Pinnacles and Channels

    Wayilbatan, Misool

    Dive into the dramatic underwater landscapes of the Wayilbatan area. Explore the four submerged pinnacles of Four Kings, a majestic site crusted in soft corals, and drift through the gorgonian-lined channel of Neptune Fan Sea.

  6. Day 6: Magic Mountain Mantas

    Warakaraket, Misool

    An entire day is dedicated to one of Raja Ampat's most revered dive sites, Magic Mountain. This offshore seamount serves as a cleaning station for both oceanic and reef manta rays and boasts incredible fish life, even when the mantas are elsewhere.

    Dive sites: Magic Mountain

    Good to know: Multiple dives may be conducted at this site to maximize opportunities for manta ray encounters.

  7. Day 7: Southward Bound

    Misool & Open Sea

    Enjoy a final morning dive in Misool's rich waters before the vessel begins its long-distance crossing south towards Triton Bay. The afternoon and evening are spent sailing across the Seram Sea.

    Good to know: This is primarily a travel day with a long open-water crossing.

  8. Day 8: Mid-Passage at Pisang Island

    Pulau Pisang

    The long journey is broken up with dives around the remote Pulau Pisang. Explore the T-Bone seamount and the unique boulder formations at Lighthouse, which are decorated with large, beautiful elephant ear corals.

    Dive sites: T Bone, Lighthouse

    Good to know: This stop provides a welcome break during the multi-day crossing to Triton Bay.

  9. Day 9: Welcome to Triton Bay

    Triton Bay

    The crossing concludes as you arrive in the nutrient-rich waters of Triton Bay. After a quiet afternoon of cruising into the bay, you'll conduct one or two check-out dives to get a first taste of the area's incredible soft coral forests.

  10. Day 10: Exploring Triton's Gems

    Triton Bay

    A full day is dedicated to exploring Triton Bay's signature sites. Experience the stunning swim-through at Dramai and the beautiful shallow reefs of Little Komodo, which are bathed in spectacular natural light.

    Dive sites: Dramai, Little Komodo

  11. Day 11: Whale Sharks of the Bagans

    Triton Bay

    A major trip highlight awaits with a visit to the local fishing platforms, known as 'bagans'. Here you will have the chance to snorkel or dive with a resident population of whale sharks that gather to feed on baitfish.

    Dive sites: Bagan Whale Shark Dive

    Good to know: Encounters with whale sharks are highly likely but not guaranteed. Afternoon dives will be on nearby reefs.

  12. Day 12: Triton Above and Below

    Triton Bay

    Explore more of the area's diversity with morning dives on the prolific reefs within the Iris Strait. In the afternoon, you may have the option for land-based activities, such as a trek to a viewpoint or a visit to a recently discovered non-stinging jellyfish lake.

    Good to know: Potential for land excursions to a jellyfish lake or the 'Triton Bay Skywalk'.

  13. Day 13: Last Full Day in Triton Bay

    Triton Bay

    Enjoy the final full day of diving in Triton Bay. This is an opportunity to revisit a favorite dive site or explore some of the lesser-known spots, which are often excellent for muck diving and finding cryptic critters.

    Good to know: Dive plan may be adjusted based on guest preferences and conditions.

  14. Day 14: Final Dives & Journey to Kaimana

    Triton Bay

    Two final morning dives are offered to soak in the beauty of Triton Bay one last time. Afterward, the boat will lift anchor and begin its journey to Kaimana, where the trip will conclude.

    Good to know: Sailing towards the disembarkation port in the afternoon and evening.

  15. Day 15: Disembarkation in Kaimana

    Kaimana

    Following an early breakfast on board, you will disembark in Kaimana. Staff will assist with the transfer to the local airport for your onward flight.

    Good to know: Disembarkation day. No diving activities.
