Today marks the beginning of diving in the remote Gaaf Alif Atoll, known for its pristine and untouched coral reefs. This region offers a unique diving experience with vibrant hard and soft corals, often providing excellent visibility. Divers can expect drift dives along channels and outer reefs, encountering various reef fish and pelagic species.
The exploration of Gaaf Alif Atoll continues. Today's dives focus on areas renowned for pelagic encounters. The currents here attract large schools of jackfish and various sharks, including hammerheads and tiger sharks. The topography often includes channels and thilas, providing ideal conditions for seeking out larger marine life.
The expedition moves to Foamulah, an area celebrated for its exceptional shark encounters. This region is particularly known for its diverse shark population, including hammerheads and tiger sharks, which are frequently sighted. Dives here often involve exploring channels and deep reefs, offering thrilling opportunities to observe these magnificent predators in their natural habitat.
Today's diving takes guests to Addu Atoll, the southernmost atoll of the Maldives, offering a distinct diving landscape. This area is known for its unique reef structures and channels, which host diverse marine life. Addu is also a prominent location for manta ray encounters, and its calmer, clearer waters often provide excellent conditions for observation. Night dives may offer a chance to spot whale sharks.
The vessel returns to Foamulah for another day of incredible diving, reaffirming its reputation as a hotspot for pelagic species. The currents and topography make it an ideal hunting ground for various sharks and large schools of fish. Divers anticipate exhilarating drift dives and opportunities to observe the abundant marine diversity that this remarkable region offers.
The final day of diving brings guests back to Gaaf Alif Atoll, where they enjoy a few last dives before beginning the surface interval. The last dive of the trip is on the penultimate day, allowing ample time for off-gassing. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive. The evening is spent relaxing and reflecting on the week's adventures.
Guests will disembark in Addu, Maldives, in the morning. After breakfast, it will be time to say farewell to the crew and fellow divers, taking with you unforgettable memories of your southern Maldivian diving adventure.
