This liveaboard trip explores the Central Atolls of the Maldives, offering a diverse array of dive sites and marine encounters. Guests will journey through North Male, South Male, Felidhoo, and Ari Atolls, experiencing five diving days with two night dives. Transfers, full board, and a BBQ lunch are included, ensuring a comfortable and memorable journey.
Upon arrival at Male Airport, guests will be met by staff members who will assist with transfers to the liveaboard. After boarding, there will be a welcome briefing, followed by time to settle into cabins and plan for the itinerary ahead. Dinner will be served on board.
Today marks the beginning of the dive program, focusing on the Central Atolls including North Male, South Male, Felidhoo, and Ari Atolls. Divers can anticipate exhilarating encounters with pelagic species, vibrant reef ecosystems, and the possibility of spotting whale sharks. The area is known for strong currents that attract abundant marine life, making for dynamic drift dives.
Continuing through the Central Atolls, today's dives highlight the distinct characteristics of North Male, South Male, Felidhoo, and Ari Atolls. The region often features channels and thilas (underwater pinnacles), providing diverse topography for exploration. Strong currents can be expected, which are ideal for drift dives and attracting schooling fish and larger predators.
The dive program in the Central Atolls continues, offering opportunities to explore more of the diverse underwater landscapes of Felidhoo and Ari Atolls. These areas are known for a wide array of marine life, from colorful reef fish to impressive pelagics. Divers may encounter various shark species and manta rays, with the possibility of a night dive to observe nocturnal creatures.
Today's diving focuses on areas known for whale shark sightings, particularly in Ari Atoll. Guests will participate in a full-of-life dive program, actively searching for these magnificent creatures. The region's rich plankton blooms often attract whale sharks, providing incredible photographic opportunities. Reefs also teem with diverse fish life and corals.
The journey through the Central Atolls continues, with dives planned across North Male, South Male, Felidhoo, and Ari Atolls. After the dives, the vessel will begin its journey back towards Male. Guests will have free time to relax and prepare for disembarkation, perhaps enjoying a BBQ lunch on a deserted island as a farewell celebration.
Disembarkation at Male Airport is scheduled for 07:00 AM. For guests with afternoon return flights, a day hotel option near the airport is available, offering free time to optionally visit Male before heading home.
