About Solitude Adventurer

Navigating Indonesia's diverse marine environments, the Solitude Adventurer provides access to some of the world's premier dive sites.

The vast movement of water across the Indonesian archipelago, coupled with intense geological activity, has created a mosaic of underwater worlds. Deep oceanic trenches, volcanic seamounts, and sprawling coral platforms form distinct marine provinces, each with its own character and inhabitants. This dynamic environment supports one of the highest concentrations of marine life on the planet. From the current-swept channels of Komodo to the remote archipelagos of Raja Ampat and the Banda Sea, the underwater topography is as varied as the life it sustains. The Solitude Adventurer is a purpose-built vessel designed to navigate these diverse and often remote regions, offering a stable and efficient platform for exploring the full spectrum of Indonesia's marine ecosystems. Diving operations are organized for efficiency and access to the best sites. The spacious dive deck provides individual gear stations, ensuring ample room for preparation and post-dive equipment care. Multiple freshwater rinse tanks for suits, regulators, and camera equipment are readily available. Dives are conducted from large, comfortable tenders, allowing for precise drop-offs at specific points on the reef and safe pickups. For underwater photographers and videographers, there are dedicated areas for camera setup and storage. All dives are led by experienced local guides who possess an intimate knowledge of the currents, topography, and marine life behavior, ensuring a safe and informative experience for small groups of divers. Life aboard is designed for comfort and relaxation between dives. The vessel accommodates up to 18 guests in eight well-appointed cabins, including Staterooms, Main Deck Twins, and Deluxe Cabins. Each cabin features private en-suite bathroom facilities and individual climate controls, providing a personal space to rest and recharge. Social areas are spread across multiple decks. An air-conditioned indoor lounge offers a comfortable setting for photo sharing and briefings, while a large, shaded outdoor lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy the sea air. An open-air sundeck at the top of the vessel provides ample space for sunbathing and taking in the dramatic island scenery. The onboard culinary program focuses on fresh, flavorful meals to fuel active days of diving. A professional chef and galley team prepare a varied menu that combines Western dishes with Asian and Indonesian specialties. Meals are typically served in a communal dining area, with a mix of buffet-style and plated service. Throughout the day, a selection of snacks, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and soft drinks are available for guests. The crew is able to accommodate most special dietary requirements and allergies with advance notification, ensuring all guests are well-catered for during their journey. Originally constructed in 2000 and fully refurbished in 2017, the Solitude Adventurer combines a robust build with modern amenities. The 36-meter vessel features an exceptionally wide 12-meter beam, a design choice that provides significant stability both at anchor and during open-water crossings. Propulsion is supplied by two powerful 1380 HP MTU engines, which deliver a cruising speed of 10 knots and an impressive top speed of 23 knots. This capability allows for faster, more efficient transits between distant dive areas, maximizing time spent exploring. The ship also offers WiFi connectivity to help guests stay in touch while at sea. Solitude Adventurer operates a rotating schedule of itineraries that follow the optimal diving seasons across Indonesia. Trips explore the nutrient-rich waters of Komodo National Park, departing from Labuan Bajo, and the biodiverse reefs of Raja Ampat, with Sorong serving as the primary port. The vessel also undertakes special transition charters through the historic Banda Sea, often beginning or ending in Ambon. This liveaboard is an excellent choice for experienced divers, photographers, and anyone with a spirit of adventure seeking to explore remote and challenging environments. Its speed and range make it particularly well-suited for guests interested in comprehensive trips that cover extensive geographical areas.
