This itinerary covers the essential dive domains of northern and central Raja Ampat, an area widely regarded as the global epicentre of marine biodiversity. The route balances the current-swept, fish-heavy reefs of the Dampier Strait with the dramatic karst island seascapes of Wayag and Penemu. You will experience a wide range of topographies, from offshore seamounts and sloping coral gardens to mangrove-fringed channels and black-sand critter sites. The diving here is dynamic, rewarding, and exceptionally varied.
Sorong
Guests are met at Sorong airport and transferred to the vessel for embarkation. After the welcome briefing and safety orientation, the vessel motors to a calm, sheltered site in the Mioskon area for a mandatory check dive. This is a straightforward reef dive designed for buoyancy checks, gear configuration, and water acclimation. Dense schools of yellow snapper are present against a backdrop of healthy hard corals. The day focuses on settling in and preparing for the week ahead.

Mioskon / Dampier Strait
This day involves full immersion into the nutrient-rich waters of the Dampier Strait. Diving begins at Mioskon, a classic Raja Ampat reef, before proceeding to the offshore seamounts of Blue Magic and Sardine Reef. These are advanced, current-heavy dives where a reef hook is essential. Vast schools of fusiliers, jacks, and barracuda are present, with frequent patrols by grey reef and black-tip reef sharks. The day concludes with a dusk dive at Sapokren to spot mandarinfish during their mating rituals.

Yenbuba / Mansuar
Exploration of the Dampier Strait's signature sites continues. Cape Kri and Chicken Reef are high-voltage drift dives, where currents attract large aggregations of fish. Divers hook in at the split and observe the marine life, keeping an eye on the blue for passing Spanish mackerel. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to macro life beneath the jetties at Sawanderek and Arborek. The pylons act as artificial reefs, sheltering pipefish, frogfish, and schools of juvenile batfish in the dappled light.

Arborek / Yanggefo
The day begins at Manta Ridge, a well-known cleaning station that offers a good probability of encounters with oceanic manta rays. After an early start, the vessel moves to the convoluted channels of Yanggefo. Here, divers explore Citrus Ridge, a sloping reef with abundant anthias, and Edi's Black Forest, a unique environment where a mangrove forest's root system merges directly with the coral reef. This interface of habitats creates an opportunity to observe distinct ecosystems meeting.

Wayag & Kawe
The vessel travels north to the iconic, uninhabited karst pinnacles of Wayag. En route, it crosses the equator to dive the offshore islands of Kawe. Here, sites like Eagle Rock and Figure 8 are exposed to open ocean currents, attracting larger pelagic species. The afternoon is a non-diving activity: guests have the chance to snorkel in Wayag’s sheltered central lagoon, which serves as a nursery for juvenile black-tip reef sharks that patrol the shallow, sandy flats.

Penemu
Penemu, part of the Fam Islands group, is home to some of Raja Ampat’s most visually impressive reefs. The star is Melissa's Garden, a vast, shallow plateau carpeted with a staggering diversity and density of hard corals. Divers also explore My Reef, a submerged pinnacle, and Rufus, a wall that offers good vertical relief. In the afternoon, guests can take the short, steep trek up the boardwalk to the Penemu viewpoint for the classic panoramic photograph of the surrounding turquoise lagoons and karst islets.

Batanta
For the final day of diving, the focus switches to the muck and macro sites of Batanta Island. The dark, volcanic sand slopes at Dayang South and Dayang Ridge are a prime habitat for unusual and cryptic critters. This day is for slow, patient searching. Guides assist in spotting ghost pipefish, a variety of nudibranchs, and well-camouflaged frogfish. For macro photographers and those interested in marine oddities, these dives are a genuine highlight and showcase another facet of Raja's biodiversity.

Sorong
The vessel will be anchored in Sorong harbour. After a final breakfast on board, you will farewell the crew and prepare for disembarkation. A transfer to Sorong airport for your onward flight will be arranged. No diving is scheduled on the final day to ensure a safe surface interval before flying. You will leave with a logbook filled with encounters ranging from large pelagics in the Dampier Strait to the unique benthic critters of Batanta.
