GOLDEN MIX itinerary is an exceptional week of diving in the southern part of the Red Sea. It combines thrilling shark encounters at Daedalus with beautiful coral lagoons at St Johns and Sataya – Fury Shoal, where you can also snorkel with dolphins. This itinerary covers the entire southern region of the Red Sea in just one week. It’s a unique experience only available on the JPMarine boat. Marsa Alam
Guests arrive and transfer to the vessel for check-in procedures. The evening is spent on board with a welcome briefing and dinner before the journey begins.
Good to know: No diving on the first day. The boat remains in the marina overnight.
Marsa Alam Area
The day's activities begin with orientation dives in the local Marsa Alam area. These initial dives allow everyone to check their equipment and weight requirements before the vessel navigates south.
Good to know: The number of dives is typically two to three, depending on conditions and schedule.
Daedalus Reef
An entire day is dedicated to exploring Daedalus Reef, a renowned marine park known for pelagic sightings. Dives focus on the walls and plateaus, offering opportunities to spot hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, and other shark species.
Dive sites: Daedalus Reef
Good to know: Night dives are strictly prohibited at Daedalus Reef as per marine park regulations.
Rocky Island & Zabargad Island
The journey continues to the deep south to explore Rocky Island's sheer drop-offs and strong currents, known for excellent visibility. The day also includes a dive at Zabargad to see the historic Hanka wreck before moving towards St Johns for a night dive.
Dive sites: Rocky Island, Zabargad Island, Hanka Wreck
Good to know: The day includes three day dives and one night dive, weather permitting.
St Johns
Diving focuses on the diverse St Johns reef system, featuring everything from deep drop-offs to sheltered coral lagoons. The varied topography provides habitats for turtles and reef sharks, with a night dive planned to see nocturnal marine life.
Dive sites: Habili Ali, Habili Gafar, Gota Kebira
Good to know: A night dive is scheduled in the St Johns area.
Sataya & Fury Shoal
The morning presents a chance to snorkel with a resident pod of spinner dolphins in the Sataya lagoon, also known as Dolphin House. Subsequent dives explore the renowned cave systems and coral formations of the Fury Shoal, such as Claudia and Malahy.
Dive sites: Sataya (Dolphin House), Fury Shoal, Maksur, Claudia Reef, Malahy
Good to know: A festive dinner is typically held this evening.
Marsa Alam Area
The last day of diving consists of two or three dives at sites in the Marsa Alam vicinity. After the dives, the boat returns to the marina for the final night on board.
Good to know: The vessel overnights in the marina before disembarkation.
Marsa Alam
Following a final breakfast on board, guests complete the check-out process in the morning. A group transfer is then provided for departure.
Good to know: Check-out is typically scheduled for 08:00 AM.
