This extended journey navigates from Ambon to Sorong, timed with the monsoon change to explore the remote Banda Sea. The itinerary is designed to encounter seasonal aggregations of hammerhead sharks and other large pelagic species like Mola Mola and whales. Guests will also discover the historical Spice Islands and conclude the trip in the world-renowned, biodiverse reefs of Misool in Raja Ampat, known for its vibrant coral gardens and abundant marine life.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Ambon Bay

    Guests will check in and board the Gaya Baru Indah in Ambon between 8:00 and 10:00. The adventure begins with a single dive in Ambon Bay before the vessel departs for Nusa Laut, where it will anchor for the night.

  2. Day 2: Nusa Laut

    Nusa Laut

    The day is dedicated to exploring the underwater world of Nusa Laut with two scheduled dives. Afterwards, the boat will begin its passage towards Pulau Suanggi while at sea.

  3. Day 3: Pulau Suanggi

    Pulau Suanggi

    Divers will enjoy three dives around the remote Pulau Suanggi. Following the day's underwater explorations, the journey continues with a departure for the historic Banda Neira.

  4. Day 4: Banda Neira

    Banda Neira

    The day combines diving and culture with three dives in the waters of Banda Neira. Guests will also have the opportunity to go ashore for a land tour of the town and enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the boat.

  5. Day 5: Banda Neira

    Banda Neira

    A full day of diving is planned in Banda Neira, offering either three or four dives. One of these will be a special sunset dive, providing a unique perspective on the local marine environment as day turns to night.

  6. Day 6: Pulau Hatta

    Pulau Hatta

    Following an early departure, the boat will arrive at Pulau Hatta for three dives. Once the diving is complete, the vessel will begin its overnight passage towards Pulau Koon.

  7. Day 7: Pulau Koon

    Pulau Koon

    The day features two dives in the waters of Pulau Koon. After the dives, the boat will lift anchor and commence its journey to the next destination, Pulau Pisang.

  8. Day 8: Pulau Pisang

    Guests will have the chance to complete two or three dives around Pulau Pisang. In the evening, the liveaboard will depart for the celebrated Misool region of Raja Ampat.

  9. Day 9: Misool

    The first day in Misool offers three spectacular dives at some of the area's most iconic sites. Divers will explore the famous Magic Mountain, Boo Windows, and Whale Rock, experiencing the incredible biodiversity for which Raja Ampat is known.

  10. Day 10: Misool

    A packed day of diving in Misool includes four dives. The schedule features explorations of Neptun's Fan Sea and the Four Kings dive site, culminating in a night dive at Baracuda Rock.

  11. Day 11: Misool

    The final day of diving on the trip consists of three dives at renowned Misool sites including Puri Pinnacle, Nudi Rock, and Juliette. Afterwards, the boat will begin its final passage, heading towards the port of Sorong.

  12. Day 12: Disembarkation in Sorong

    The liveaboard is scheduled to arrive in Sorong between noon and 2:00 PM. Upon arrival, guests will disembark and be transferred to their hotel, concluding the trip.
