About this route

Journey to the northern Red Sea, where the unique topography of the Sinai Peninsula creates an exceptional diving landscape. This itinerary explores the vibrant coral gardens and dramatic wall dives of the Tiran Straits, a region renowned for its swift currents that attract pelagic species such as reef sharks and schooling fish. Further south, the journey includes the historically significant wreck of the SS Thistlegorm and the protected reefs of Ras Mohamed National Park, offering a diverse array of marine life from vibrant reef dwellers to larger open-ocean encounters. Expect drift dives over rich ecosystems and opportunities to explore iconic shipwrecks.

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Welcome Aboard in Hurghada

    Arrive at Hurghada International Airport and transfer to the marina. Settle into your cabin, set up your gear, and attend the welcome briefing before dinner.

  2. Day 2: Heading North to Sinai

    After two shakedown dives at a local reef near Hurghada, the vessel begins its journey north across the Strait of Gubal towards the Sinai Peninsula.

  3. Day 3: Drift Diving the Tiran Straits

    The vessel arrives at the Strait of Tiran for exhilarating drift dives. Divers explore Jackson Reef's vibrant coral walls and the elongated Woodhouse Reef, keeping an eye out for pelagic fish in the blue.

  4. Day 4: Tiran's Canyons and Plateaus

    Divers explore Thomas Reef, famous for its deep canyon, and Gordon Reef, known for its diverse topography and the resting place of the Loullia wreck. A night dive is planned on a sheltered part of the reef.

  5. Day 5: Ras Mohamed National Park

    The vessel motors to the southern tip of Sinai to dive Ras Mohamed National Park. Dives include the world-renowned Shark and Yolanda Reef and the beautiful hard corals of Anemone City.

  6. Day 6: Exploring the SS Thistlegorm

    A short journey takes the vessel to the legendary SS Thistlegorm. Divers conduct at least two dives to fully appreciate this underwater museum, from its locomotive to its Bedford trucks and BSA motorcycles.

  7. Day 7: Dunraven Wreck and Return Journey

    The final day of diving begins with the 19th-century Dunraven wreck at Beacon Rock. The vessel then starts its return trip to Hurghada, possibly making a final reef dive at Sha'ab Ali.

  8. Day 8: Farewell and Departure from Hurghada

    After a final onboard breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to the crew and your fellow divers. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
