Embark on a captivating journey commencing in Kalabahi Bay, where a check dive at sunset sets the stage for the exploration ahead. The expedition unfolds with three immersive dives at Pulau Sika, followed by Nil Desperandum, a remote atoll offering deep, dramatic slopes. You’ll then experience three more exhilarating dives off Serua Island, an isolated landmass prominently rising from the ocean, followed by three scheduled dives at Manuk Island, a remarkable location in the Banda region. The route continues to Banda Neira, featuring two impressive dives around Hatta Island before allowing a historical land visit. Subsequently, two dives await you at Nusa Laut, renowned for its beautifully preserved coral reefs, before bringing this 32-dive "Ring of Fire" adventure, rich with potential hammerhead, grey reef shark, and bumphead parrotfish sightings, to its conclusion. Expect a dynamic diving experience across Mawar and other sites, with encounters with schools of tuna and elusive mandarin fish adding to the allure of these pristine waters.
Kalabahi Bay Arrive not more than 12 Pm Check Dive Sunset. As Dancing Wind sets sail, passengers can explore the stunning underwater world of Kalabahi Bay during a check dive. Witnessing the vibrant marine life and coral reefs during sunset is sure to be a memorable experience.
Pulau Sika The plan includes 1 dive or snorkeling session, along with a special activity: searching for dugongs. Pulau Sika is known for "Mawar," a resident dugong that lives among the vast seagrass habitat. There is a possibility of seeing its partner as well. The vessel cruises to Reong Island, an approximate 15-hour journey. On Day 3, passengers explore the beautiful Reong Island with two dives, discovering the vibrant marine ecosystem and encountering unique underwater species. Additionally, there is one dive at Wetar before cruising towards Nyata Island, where more adventures await. On Day 4, guests participate in two thrilling dives at Nyata Island, immersing themselves in its spectacular underwater landscapes and encountering a variety of marine creatures. Following this, the boat proceeds to Kital Island, where an additional dive takes place to explore the island's intriguing underwater habitat. The expedition then continues to Terbang Island for more experiences. On Day 5, at Terbang Island, guests embark on a thrilling dive at North Terbang Island, witnessing vibrant coral reefs and swimming alongside schools of tropical fish. Afterward, the expedition proceeds to South Terbang Island for two more exhilarating dives, allowing exploration of the diverse marine life that inhabits the area. The day concludes with a relaxing cruise to Desperandum Atoll, where guests unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views.
Nil Desperandum – enjoy 3 dives in this remote atoll with deep slopes and beautiful shallow reefs. There are opportunities to see schooling hammerheads along with silky and grey reef sharks. Schooling trevallies, bumphead parrotfish also call this area their home.
Serua Island: The plan includes 3 dives at this remote island, which juts out of the middle of the Banda Sea, approximately 50 miles south of Manuk. This is another site where schooling hammerheads frequently pass during their migration. Guests enjoy possible sightings of mackerel, tuna, trevallies, and a wide variety of reef fish that inhabit the slopes and deep walls in the area.
Manuk Island: 3 dives are scheduled at this dive site in the Banda Sea. It is famous for numerous, not-shy sea snakes, and the reefs here are also incredible. Pelagics, schooling hammerheads, and bumphead parrotfish are frequently seen. After the dives here, the vessel proceeds north to the Banda Neira island chain.
Banda Neira: The plan includes 2 dives around Hatta Island, followed by a visit to the historically significant Fort Belgica, which played a role during the early days of the spice trade. The dusk dive in the harbor is a favorite, offering very high chances to see the normally elusive mandarin fish. It is common here to see many mandarin fish. Photographers prepare for opportunities. On Day 10, Suanggi: This is the last island during the itinerary with high chances of seeing schooling hammerheads. The plan includes 3 dives around this remote island, which is a few hours north of Banda Neira. After 3 dives, the vessel sails to Nusa Laut.
Nusa Laut: The plan includes 2 dives set against beautiful, well-preserved coral reefs, with excellent chances to see sea turtles, pelagics, and various macro marine life. After the 2 dives, guests relax and enjoy the view as the vessel cruises back to Ambon harbor.
The Ring of Fire journey from Alor-Ambon concludes. After breakfast, guests share photos, videos, and contacts with other divers who have made Dancing Wind home for the last 12 days.
