About this route

This 12-night liveaboard explores the remote Northern Atolls of the Maldives, offering a true expedition diving experience. Divers will encounter pristine reefs, seek out hammerhead sharks, and experience manta rays in Baa Atoll on the return journey. The route covers Noonu, Lhaviyani, Raa, Haa Alifu, and Haa Dhaalu Atolls, departing and returning to Male (MLE).

Day-by-day plan

  1. Day 1: Arrival and Check Dive

    North Male Atoll

    Guests arrive at Velana International Airport (MLE) and transfer to the liveaboard. After a safety briefing, a check dive is conducted to ensure comfort and equipment function.

  2. Day 2: North Male & Lhaviyani Crossing

    North Male Atoll / Lhaviyani Atoll

    The vessel explores vibrant thilas in North Male Atoll before beginning a northward journey into Lhaviyani, with a focus on locating mantas.

    Dive sites: Lion's Head, Kuredu Express, The Shipyard

  3. Day 3: Lhaviyani Atoll Exploration

    Lhaviyani Atoll

    Diving renowned channels and thilas within Lhaviyani Atoll, known for strong currents and pelagic action.

    Dive sites: Fushifaru Corner, Madivaru Corner, Kathaafushi Corner

  4. Day 4: Raa Atoll Wonders

    Raa Atoll

    The vessel ventures into Raa Atoll, discovering pristine reefs and exploring vibrant pinnacles teeming with marine life.

    Dive sites: Fenfushi Thila, Maamigili Beyru, Vandhoo Channel

  5. Day 5: Remote Noonu Atoll

    Noonu Atoll

    Exploring the untouched beauty of Noonu Atoll, known for its healthy coral gardens and potential for larger aggregations.

    Dive sites: Christmas Tree Rock, Orimas Thila, Dheburudhoo Out reef

  6. Day 6: Haa Alifu Expedition

    Upon reaching Haa Alifu Atoll, divers explore remote channels and outer reefs, providing a frontier diving experience.

  7. Day 7: Haa Dhaalu Pinnacles

    Haa Dhaalu Atoll

    Furthest north, Haa Dhaalu Atoll offers seldom-dived sites with remarkable biodiversity and coral formations.

    Dive sites: Kurulu Kairi, Girifushi Thila (Haa Dhaalu), Vaadhoo Channel

  8. Day 8: Southward Journey & Noonu

    Haa Dhaalu Atoll / Noonu Atoll

    The return journey begins with exploration of Haa Dhaalu before cruising south towards Noonu, revisiting favorite spots or discovering new ones.

    Dive sites: Hanimaadhoo Reef, Manadhoo Corner, Raafushi Thila

  9. Day 9: Raa & Baa Atoll Transit

    Noonu Atoll / Baa Atoll

    A day of transition through Raa towards Baa Atoll, with dives focused on finding pelagic species.

    Dive sites: Dhigu Thila, Dhigali Haa, Milaidhoo Reef

  10. Day 10: Baa Atoll Manta Day

    Baa Atoll

    Dedicated day to Baa Atoll's famous cleaning stations and feeding grounds, hoping for manta ray encounters. A night dive is planned if conditions allow.

    Dive sites: Dhonfanu Thila, Nelivaru Thila, Hanifaru Bay (snorkeling/diving, depending on regulations)

  11. Day 11: Baa to North Ari Crossing

    Baa Atoll / North Ari Atoll

    Enjoy the final dives in Baa Atoll before cruising towards North Ari, known for its healthy reefs and chances of hammerheads.

    Dive sites: Dhigurah Thila, Muthaafushi Thila, Maaya Thila (night dive)

  12. Day 12: North Ari Sharks & Final Dives

    North Ari Atoll

    Exploring iconic thilas in North Ari, renowned for shark action and vibrant coral life. Final dives before sailing back towards Male at night.

    Dive sites: Fish Head (Mushimasmingali Thila), Bathala Kan Thila

  13. Day 13: Disembarkation

    North Male Atoll

    After breakfast, guests disembark the liveaboard at Male and transfer to Velana International Airport (MLE) for their onward flights.
