When filming or photographing, use a fast shutter speed (1/250s or higher) and quick autofocus tracking, as flying fish move with sudden, darting bursts. Diet

Flying fish are opportunistic epipelagic planktivores and micropredators that forage primarily in the upper layers of the water column. They also feed readily on larval decapods, small gelatinous organisms, and the eggs and larvae of other marine fishes that congregate in surface slicks.
