Dining on the Westward is a central part of the experience, featuring wholesome, fresh meals prepared with local Alaskan ingredients. The menu emphasizes organic and unprocessed foods, reflecting the natural bounty of the region in a cozy, communal setting.
The Westward focuses on immersive land-based exploration and nature observation rather than underwater activities. Guests are led by expert naturalists on guided shore excursions, including hikes through pristine coastal forests, visits to remote inlets, and cultural explorations of local Alaskan communities. Water-based activities are limited to kayaking, allowing guests to silently approach glaciers and observe marine life from the surface. The pace is designed to be contemplative and educational, ensuring minimal impact on the fragile ecosystems visited during the expedition.
