Blonde Rock is an offshore seamount between Salt Island and Dead Chest Island, rising from deep water to within about 5 meters of the surface. Because it sits alone in open water, the rock acts like a magnet for marine life, with swirling schools of creole wrasse and snapper, hunting jacks and barracuda, and regular sightings of reef sharks, turtles and eagle rays. The pinnacle itself is covered in corals and sponges, with ledges and small caves to explore at depths down to around 25 meters. The exposed position means the site is weather-dependent and can have current, so it is usually dived in settled conditions. When the sea cooperates, Blonde Rock delivers some of the most action-packed diving in the BVI. It is a classic liveaboard stop that is hard to reach any other way.
