About Batu Bolong

Waarschijnlijk Komodo's beroemdste duiklocatie — een kleine rotspunt die barst van het leven. Sterke stromingen brengen voedselrijk water, wat enorme scholen vissen, rifhaaien en reuzentrevallies ondersteunt. De hele rotspunt is bedekt met kleurrijke zachte koralen van 3m tot 70m diepte, waardoor het een van de dichtstbevolkte riffen ter wereld is.

Dives are strictly conducted on the lee side of the pinnacle during slack or gentle tidal exchanges to avoid dangerous conditions, including potential downcurrents and powerful whirlpools visible from the surface. Divers must stay behind their guide, maintain strong buoyancy, and be prepared for drift diving.
