About Princess Sara

Spanning 131 feet, the 40-meter timber Princess Sara is a four-deck Maldivian liveaboard featuring integrated whirlpools and a 69-foot auxiliary dhoni.

The Maldivian archipelago, a vast expanse of coral formations, presents an intricate underwater topography sculpted by consistent oceanic currents. This dynamic system supports a complex food web that attracts a wide array of marine species, from resident reef fish to migrating pelagics, including giant whale sharks, manta rays, and impressive tiger sharks. The Princess Sara, a 40-meter timber vessel with a 36-foot beam, navigates these legendary waters, concentrating on secluded southern atolls where aquatic life is both untamed and stunning. Acting as a professional hub for exploring the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean, the liveaboard accommodates 20 guests for comprehensive exploration of this tropical biodiversity. Subsurface discovery is the heart of the voyage, with a schedule typically providing three daily guided immersions led by local experts. All dive logistics are handled by a 21-meter (69-foot) support dhoni to maintain a peaceful environment on the primary ship. This secondary craft is fully rigged with a pair of Bauer compressors, a specialized Nitrox blending station, and a stock of 30 tanks. Scuba activities are tailored for individuals with significant experience; voyages to tiger shark hubs or the southern atolls require an Advanced Open Water license and a minimum of 30 recorded dives. The vessel maintains a complete rental fleet, including regulators, BCDs, and dive computers, while specialized southern voyages emphasize unique tiger shark interactions. Onboard life is distributed across four generous decks, offering plenty of space to unwind between water activities in a variety of communal zones. Accommodation consists of 10 elegant cabins, including two Master Suites, four Junior Suites, two Deluxe twin cabins, and two Standard cabins, all featuring en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. Many cabins boast personal whirlpool baths and digital media centers for high-end relaxation. Guests can congregate in the indoor saloon, dedicated dining area, or bar, while relaxation options extend to an outdoor lounge, a sun deck, a leisure deck, and a Jacuzzi. The professional atmosphere ensures a smooth shift from the ocean to the deck, enhanced by land excursions to local fishing villages and deserted islands. Cuisine is a focal point of the experience, offering a full-board package with three daily prepared meals featuring a fusion of global and local flavors. A highlight of the social calendar is the classic BBQ dinner set on a sandy shore beneath the night sky. Throughout the trip, passengers have constant access to coffee, tea, and limitless bottled water, while specific staterooms are outfitted with private minibars for added convenience. For individual choice, certain items such as alcoholic beverages and tinned sodas are offered as extra-cost additions. The journey is designed for seamless travel, including local service taxes, Maldivian GST, and two-way airport shuttle transfers. Princess Sara is expertly outfitted with a robust wooden hull, propelled by a 600hp Doosan Daewoo motor and supported by three generators for uninterrupted electricity. Safety remains a top priority with a constant 24-hour emergency link and a requirement for divers to provide insurance policy information. Dual reverse osmosis plants ensure a constant supply of fresh water for the private bathrooms and general ship facilities. Dive operations are conducted efficiently utilizing the auxiliary dhoni and skiff boats for direct access to sites, supported by a primary dive deck with shaded staging areas and dedicated dive lockers.
