About Naga Biru

A modern liveaboard in Indonesia, offering expert-led dive itineraries and contemporary comforts for small groups.

Indonesia's more than 17,000 islands create a complex network of channels, straits, and isolated seas, where marine evolution has charted its own course. This results in distinct underwater regions, from the current-swept pinnacles of Komodo to the volcanic slopes and nutrient-rich upwellings around Alor. Exploring these disparate ecosystems requires a vessel purpose-built for range and access. The Naga Biru was conceived for this exact purpose, providing a modern platform to navigate these remote Indonesian waters and reach dive sites far from standard routes. Dive logistics are organized around efficiency and small-group dynamics. Two fast tenders, each powered by 100 HP Suzuki engines, ensure rapid transit to and from the sites, maximizing underwater time. This approach allows for flexible dive planning, adapting to conditions and accessing more secluded spots. On the main vessel, divers have designated areas for gear storage and setup. Space is available for photographers to manage their equipment, and the entire operation is supported by an experienced crew who guide guests through the varied topographies and help to spot the region's unique marine life. The vessel accommodates a maximum of 12 guests across eight cabins, promoting a personal and uncrowded atmosphere. A variety of configurations are available, including Lower Deck, Deluxe, Superior, and Grand Deluxe cabins, plus a dedicated single-occupancy option on the upper deck. Every stateroom is fully air-conditioned with individual controls and includes a private en-suite bathroom. Between dives, guests can relax in several social areas. An air-conditioned indoor saloon provides a comfortable retreat, while the outdoor lounge features a bar and shaded seating. For open-air relaxation and panoramic views, a sundeck is located on the uppermost level. The onboard culinary program is designed to fuel active days of diving. The chef prepares a variety of dishes, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Meals are served in a relaxed setting, providing a social focal point after a day in the water. The menu typically features a mix of international and Indonesian flavors. Guests can also enjoy a selection of beverages from the bar, located in the shaded outdoor lounge area. The crew is able to accommodate most common dietary requirements with advance notification. Naga Biru is a new vessel, launched in 2024 and further updated in 2025 to refine its systems and guest facilities. At 40 meters in length with a 6-meter beam, the boat provides a solid and spacious platform for its small group of 12 guests. Power comes from a reliable Nissan 10-cylinder engine, delivering a cruising speed of 7 knots for efficient and comfortable transits between island groups. The modern build and systems ensure a high degree of operational dependability, an essential quality when navigating the remote archipelagos of Indonesia. Onboard WiFi is available to help guests stay connected while at sea. The vessel's itineraries focus on some of Indonesia's most compelling marine environments, including the dynamic currents of the Komodo region and the less-traveled waters around Alor. Trips are planned to coincide with the best diving seasons for each destination, departing from regional ports convenient to the cruising area. With its focus on committed diving, small group size, and modern amenities, Naga Biru is well-suited for experienced divers. It appeals to those who prioritize high-quality dive experiences and appreciate a contemporary, comfortable liveaboard from which to explore Indonesia's diverse underwater topographies.
