The Danube links some of Europe’s most memorable capitals with river valleys and historic towns. Classic journeys combine Vienna and Budapest with stretches in Austria, Germany or Slovakia. Longer routes continue into southeastern Europe, offering a very different cultural and scenic experience.

When to travel
