The Chinese edible frog is a large, robust freshwater frog native to parts of East and Southeast Asia, including countries of the Mekong basin. It is also known as the Chinese bullfrog or East Asian bullfrog. This adaptable species occurs in natural wetlands and agricultural landscapes, particularly rice-growing areas. It is widely harvested and farmed for food, although its global Least Concern status does not mean that every local population is secure.

Mekong
Dolphins inhabit northern Cambodian pools towards Laos, outside typical Vietnam-delta sailings. Otters and lesser adjutants are recorded at Prek Toal on Tonlé Sap, requiring a separate lake/wetland excursion. Neither northern pools nor the reserve is automatically included on a Mekong cruise.
